Bump stops

Fed up with your suspension springs dropping when the car is jacked up, this simple mod does the trick.

The picture shows suspension stops mounted to the damper rods. To fit, assemble the damper to the car minus the protective cover, set the desired ride height and then jack up the car till the suspension spring just goes slack, measure the gap between the bump stop rubber and the damper body. Then make spacers to suit. the one pictured is turned from nylon but a column of washers will do. The bump stop rubber has been supported by a hefty "penny" washer. The same procedure front and rear. The redundant brackets can be cleaned off the arms ( front and rear ) and the round 2cv stops are no longer required. The moon shaped front and conical rear stop must be retained.
