Mudguards, following my 1st road test and very flappy front mudguards, I have cured the flappiness - I added some small gussets to the 'Z' pressing and this has had a big effect on the stiffness. Now the guards are nice and firm Dave Parr did comment on them.
Tonneau cover, I have fitted my tonneau cover today and I am pretty pleased with it, it zips down the middle so the passenger side can be covered when driving solo.
Suspension springs - I swapped the springs round so the 2CV front is on the rear and the 2CV rears (short springs) on the front, all springs fitted with towsure upraters. The rods were left as they were as the rear needs the longer rod, I did cut 10mm off the front rods to gain a bit more adjustment. The front is now much stiffer and the front springs sit nice and straight, however the rear spring is pulling over towards the centre a bit, but none of the rods are rubbing on any part of the chassis.
2nd road test - well having sorted the carb tuning out Valentine is going pretty well, very slight flat spot but easily driven through, very loud and revs well. I have only done another 5 or 6 miles but the ride is very good and the handling is superb, I am still leaning its handling characteristics but I whacked it round a roundabout and it stuck to the road well, funny how you can see the offside wheel when cornering. I am getting used to the gear selection bearing in mind no synchromesh on 1st. What a lovely interesting car, I am looking forward to decent run , but at the moment i will do short runs to confirm reliability.
