My first kit car is a Madison (Ford based) that I built in 1984-5 and cherish it dearly. Ive always been a "petrol head" and for the last 15 years have built, serviced, flew and Inspected many home built aircraft. When I saw the Grasshopper for the first time I new I had to "have one".

The donor 2CV was sourced in November 2014 and the order placed with Phil with an estimated delivery mid Febuary 2015. All parts were stripped, overhauled and re-finished in readyness.

Feb 5th saw me at Phil's collecting everything. and that evening the chassis was placed on the prepared stands ready for a start the next morning.

By March 5th all the prepared mechanicals were fitted as was the metalwork.

By April 5th the fuel system and electrics were all in and tested with many hours spent making the tail light and number plate surround.

May 5th and I had manufactured and installed the interior and instrument panel.

June 5th and it's lots of polishing . The Guzzi started with little trouble and runs sweet. The clutch still isn't up to scratch yet but is getting better with some extra movement needed. I will be de-bugging for a week or so and then to the airfield for some trials prior to removing some of the exterior projections in preparation for the MSVA inspection. Included are some pics for your perusal.
