Assembly guide.

The 4 part print file if produced full size will require a backing board of 580x430x10mm. Exterior plywood is ideal. The files can be adjusted to suit your own requirements within the printer programming if size changes are required. . Print each file and trim the margins. Assemble dry to check type and header alignment. Vintafake effects can be added to the board at this point before varnishing with several coats of quality yacht varnish. A blow lamp can be used to good effect to gently scorch areas to show aging. When dry lightly mark horizontal and vertical centres. Using either slightly diluted PVA or yaught varnish lay down the paper prints. Work to your pre-marked guidelines quickly. Bubbles can be removed by puncturing with pin. Smooth and allow to dry. Follow with additional coats of yacht varnish to protect from weathering. The Oilyracer logo at the top of this page can be printed and pasted to the board too to show its authenticity.

A hanging basket bracket would suffice to suspend the stone, a bespoke handcrafted bracket made from scrap would be more in the true Vintafake spirit. Sourcing the correct stone is critical, note- too light and wind speed measurements may suffer from fluctuation.

Owners Guide-

When built the Oilyracer Weather Forecasting Stone is an extremely accurate scientific instrument and is the No. 1 choice for the Vintafaker who appreciates quality and technical excellence.

Once in operation the Oilyracer Weather Forecasting Stone should run for many years without requiring any additional spare parts. However it is recommended that a Oilyracer technician from the main manufacturing plant performs calibration checks on an annual basis. Alternatively technicians from our additional support base within the Pembleton Owners forum are also trained and can attend in exchange for a flagon or 2 of ale.

Yearly coats of varnish will prolong the life expectancy of the forecasting stones board.

Below are illustrations of successful installations both in the UK and Europe.

You have chosen wisely. Vintafaking is the future
