Hi all,

Hopefully someone can answer me.

The shock absorbers on my ami donor arms take a 14mm shock absorber eye instead of the normal 12mm 2cv version.

My question is, if I remove the shock absorber pins, can I replace with the 2cv 12mm pins and use 2cv shocks? I've just managed to get one out and it looks like the ami pins are 14mm both sides of the hex. I'm hoping that the 2cv ones are unequal so the arm side thread is the same between ami/2cv...

Music to my ears! Thanks Jack!

Need to order some pins and different front arm end plates then! And some 2cv shockers!

Unless you fancy doing a straight swap instead?
A while ago, I'd sorted these out for someone whose chassis wasn't quite up to standard and wanted to fit the mountings used on one of my chassis, but then he never got back to me...
What is it you need?
A pair of front damper plates with 12mm pins and how many 'standard' pins? ( M14 x 1.5 into chassis or rear arms, M12 x 1.25 outer end.)
Ignore the 25mm OD 'bushes', they're for welding onto the chassis. ;)

Hi Ken,

I've just had a rummage around my treasure box and found my shock plates. Bizarrely these are 12mm pins maybe someones beaten me to it! Although it does have the ARB mountings so who knows!

Both the pins in the rear arms are 14mm complete with spacers. The chassis ones were stead fast and went to the scrappy. I've also found one of the front 12mm chassis pins I removed, so it looks like I'm all good thanks!

The 2x14mm pins are yours if you want them!?

The Der Franzone (German 2CV) catalogue says some Ami 6 had 12mm shock absorbers front & 14mm rear. Mystery solved!
