I moved mine forward. Mounted on the flanks about 300mm from the rear. I used vw beetle indicators, gutted and fitted with led motorcycle combination rear lights. No comment from the msva tester.

Cheers Robin

Hi

Post MSVA , I moved the rear lights into nacelles mounted on the body.

Ironically, the trike failed it's MSVA first time as the rear lights were too close together using Phil's trailer board, which I didn't spot before the test, and I couldn't move them during the test. The examiner's comment was that most people mount the rear lights on the body! I took it back the following week with a remade trailer board and it passed.

My Pembleton passed MSVA with Phil's light board. The examiner did question it at the time and he went away to check and he approved it when he came back, Pulhamdown of this parish was with me at the time.
As I recall the wording is ambiguous in the regs however it is simpler just to stick on a trailer board for MSVA then sort it later - as with most things.
